It appears to be a personal site rather than a professional one, and the layout and design are satisfactory. The quality here is in the content, however. This is not a theory site, it is more focused on the practical aspects. Menke gives some great advice and examples in an informal, personal style. This should be especially valuable for beginning songwriters, but also helpful for more experienced writers. Definitely worth a visit.

Reviewed on 1/16/04 by Matti Fowler (1110) Rating: This is an excellent "hands-on-style" site. The author writes from experience, and he certainly seems to know what he's talking about. The lessons are full of good practical tips to songwriting (what to write, keep it simple, etc.). The only downside is that the lesson midi files are not readily accessible, you have to request them by email (bandwith reasons). Other than that a worthy site to visit!
