is like Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, or John Lennon & Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, Tony Iommi & Geezer Butler, etc. etc. I mean, there are ususally 2 bosses in those type of bands. I've been a Kiss fan for 25 years...(more)

I agree with Coverdale's ego, but I think he & Sykes made an incredible duo, much like Roth & Van Halen. Hard to believe, huh? I mean imagine a musician having an ego problem.....ha!

I saw SRV in 1987. It was a general admission concert & I got up close. I was only 8' or so from him on the front row. Needless to say, it was incredible! I learned more from watching him in those 2 hours than I have learned from anyone else...(more)

I just listened to "Still of the Night" off Whitesnake's self titled album, & I must say it refreshed my memory on how good John Sykes is, & how little credit he got for his magnifcent guitar work on that album. What is he up to these da...(more)

I've played on the Mexiacn & Japaneese Fenders & they both do well, though they're a bit inconsistent, I sure wouldn't buy one without test driving several of them first. I agree with you that they are a better value for the $, but consi...(more)

Go with either an American made Strat or American Tele, either of these should compliment your needs well.

Do not try to tune that guitar to pitch with steel strings, you'll damage the guitar. Nyon only!

I had a Traynor amp years ago, I don't remember the model, small combo with 2-12" or 10" speakers, I simply don't remember. I traded it for a Fender Bandmaster that had 2 15" JBL speakers. The Traynor was nice, it was very versatile. I never had...(more)

Wow, great question! I have a Gibson les Paul Custom, a super nice one at that, so I really don't see me buying another electric. I have a nice Washburn electric classical that I'm very pleased with. So, no new nylon needed. I have a very nice W...(more)

is like Kiss without Ace Frehley, just not right. It's amazing how critics will look at people like DLR & Frehley, swear up & down how simple & awful they are, but yet these people can never be replaced. I think Van Halen is in the s...(more)

I would look at Washburn, Yamaha, Taylor, Takamine, or Martin. They're all pretty equal in the $1,000 price range, personal preference will rule.

I did see SRV in convert 1987. As a matter of fact, I was less than 10' from him, up front in a general admission concert. I learned more in those 2 hours standing there watching him than I have off anyone else, it was incredible! If the video c...(more)

Ozzy is known for having great guitarists in his bands. Goodness, look at the list! Rhoads, Gillis, Lee, Wylde. Ozzy left Sabbath in 1979 (or there abouts). He went to Los Angeles & met up with Randy Rhoads, & the rest is history. Now, h...(more)
