is my all time favorite DP song. I love the organ intro! Crank that up to 11 & give it a listen sometime. DP is not the same without Blackmore, he was the key ingredient to the sound.

Sorry about the caps, not yelling at anyone. His guitar solos did nothing to enhance the songs, I believe his producer & Nikki Sixx was more responsible for his tone than was he. I have nothing against him personally, I just think he is not ...(more)

I honestly thought Angus Young would get more response. Oh well, I guess I thought wrong. Anyway, my vote goes for "Go Down" off the "Let there be Rock" album. This is one of the most impressive rock guitar solos I've ever heard. The reason bein...(more)

I see no basis for that, I'm sure you can get them both & learn twice as much as you originally anticipated. Seriously, get them both!

A "great" guitarist is made from one's ability do just what is needed to enhance the song. Nothing more, or nothing less.

Great responses, I enjoy reading all of them. Very diverse too. It just goes to show you how much of an influence Van Halen has been. I pick "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love", I still remember the 1st time I heard that riff I was blown away! Eruption w...(more)

Looking over some of the forum, I thought it might be fun to try something. I'm talking about a new series of posts where I'll list the name of a rock & roll guitarist and/or a band (weekly to give everyone a chance to respond). I want you t...(more)

Gilmour is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever. He has great technical skills, makes excellent use of his equipment & technology, uses acoustic guitar work well, & has a tremendous singing voice. His playing is very tasty to say the...(more)

Marshall. My 2nd choice is Fender. I do not have a 3rd choice. Seriously, I've owned lots of amps over the years, but Marshall & Fender are the only 2 that perform to suit me. Now, of course, this situation is like anything else, each person...(more)

Their simplicity is the magic of the whole thing. They keep coming up with new ways to play E A & D. Simple is good.

but "over rated" is not one of them. Clapton is the type of guy that would totally blow you away if you ever got to sit in with him one on one. I'm sure he is even better than we anticipate. He is one of the finest guitarists that has ever lived...(more)
