I agree with Pink Floyd being the best int his area. "Tommy" byt the Who was ground breaking, David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders From Mars" was good; "Alice Cooper goes to Hell" was another good one. I read once where KISS "Destroye...(more)

I have noticed most music stores locally as well as pawn shops will immediately look on the internet, especially e-bay, when someone brings in something to trade or sell. This gives them an actual value for the piece & what it is selling for...(more)

But what about when your Gibson is 30 years old like mine? I played my Gibson for years, put lots of miles on it. However, as it increases in age & value I have learned to be much more cautious. If I had a Gibson just a few years old then ye...(more)

Fender "Starcasters" sell for about $125 in stores locally. A guy around here went to a music store, bought 5 of them for $500 (bulk price), took them to a local flea market & is selling them for $400 each! They are not vanishing quickly, bu...(more)

You need to come see Tommy in Elizabethtown KY in Feb. He comes there every year (early Feb.) as part of an acoustic guitar master series (tickets are like $20 for a 2-3 hour show!). He also has a "Tommyfest", a workshop over the weekend, it is...(more)

I keep reading all of these posts about Gibson VS. Epi, etc. I own both, a Gibson Les Paul Custom & an Epiphone les Paul Custom. Let me begin by saying the Gibson is far superior to the Epi, end of story. Now, with that being said, look at t...(more)

one of my students has the Epiphone "Lucille" model. It is very nice, a good bargain for the price. Sounds good, easy to play & looks fantastic! However, it is not a Gibson. I prefer the Gibson 335 myself, but the Epi is much cheaper! Also, ...(more)

I saw Tommy live in Feb '08, he did this song. He is an incredible guitarist, but you know what? He made mistakes; lots of them. Of course, who wouldn't when you play a gazillion notes! Don't get me wrong, he has forgotten more than I will ever ...(more)

It's good to see so many people enjoy Rush. Though you don't hear much about them, they are immensely popular, & rightfully so! I most admire the fact that they are balanced, all 3 of them play their instruments at the same level, no one ove...(more)

I think Metallica with Mustane was like Quiet Riot with Randy Rhoads, they would have never made it as big with him. Rhoads could play circles around Carlos Cavazo (spelling) & Mustane can play circles around Kirk Hammet. However, the chemis...(more)
