Well, I haven't said much in the forum the last couple years (I even stripped my homepage). I feel I may have something to share here, though. As a person, dealing with arthritis and a partialy crippled ring finger, I know finger pain fairly we...(more)

Very sad, indeed. A most generous contributor of musical knowledge and life experience, Charles will be missed. Rest in Peace... Mr. Gasci... Pat

I haven't been coming around, much lately. Today I sign on and find I have 8 points less than I did a couple of weeks ago. I suspect that these were replys involved in Fake's post, through the years, as I see the "Buzz" is full of talk of his re...(more)

Darn it! Obee... I can't resist...:-) I have studied the Chaos theory and here is the definition of chaos as I know it: Chaos = a state of things in which chance is supreme... I define "chance" as value without structure... Out of chaos may com...(more)

I think you and Obee are taking this too seriously, Craig. The context of my original post was, somewhat anecdotal and as I have replied to Obee, conceptual. I could very easily debate your "chicken and egg" scenarios, as I started to debate st...(more)

I fail to see the correlation between chaos and clouds, nor thunder, for that matter. "do not mix taste and science" That statement makes, absolutely, no sense to me. Again the issue seems to be conceptual and we do not seem to be on the same ...(more)

I would say everthing has mathematical value, but not necessarily structure. Although, I would concede to that being a conceptual thought. Chaos may have values but lacks structure. Pat

"Is playing guitar a seperate activity from making music?" That's an interesting question, Tracy, worthy of a thread of it's own. What is the definition of music? Some would say; Music is sound with mathematical structure. Sound without mathema...(more)

There's a wealth of info at Fender's site, definitely check it out. Be aware that serial numbers are not always accurate, when it comes to Fenders. They are sometimes incorrect from the factory and counterfit decals are easily obtained. If you r...(more)

Well it's getting to be tax time again. For a number of years, now, I've been using TurboTax. This year my local warehouse store had a coupon for $15.00 off, on the desktop (Deluxe) version. So, I went and grabbed one and failed to look at the s...(more)

You might, also, consider new pots and caps. If you have a lower end model with mediochre pickups, then the rest of the electronics are probably low end. Good pickups deserve good pots to achieve their best potential. Make sure to check the pick...(more)

I have a Cannon flatbed scanner that has 35mm slide and negative capabilities. I've had it for about five years and I think it was about $150.00 new. It requires the negative or slide to be loaded into a special adapter, that came with the scann...(more)

Using a Digitech RP100 effects processor, did not produce significant improvement, in my experiments. This surprised me somewhat, as I often run the RP100 in the following chain: Guitar to processor to effects return, thus bypassing the preamp s...(more)

I have tried this in the past and the results were dissappointing. There is, just, not enough preamplification. There is no, real, power in the preamp circuit of most stereo amps and most stereo componentry has some preamplification circuitry, o...(more)

43% Guess the Westcoast is where I belong. I have actualy been there a few times through the years, though. The last time, other than some layover time at O'hare, was around 1971, I think. In fact, I lived in a little town, just north of Waukega...(more)
