Good luck, Bill! The site isn't as busy as it used to be. I still check in from time to time. I hope you find a band you enjoy. Gary

Wah's really suck the tone. I've heard that putting a phaser in front of the Wah helps. I haven't tried it.

James, Thanks for this post. You are hysterical!!! It's a good thing people don't get obsessive about other things like the guitar, for instance. I actually liked all the Star Trek's as well. Some of my friends, even some of my younger frie...(more)

Charlie, I love Star Trek. It gave me hope for the future. The first Trekkie I met was Dean Koepeske who travelled all over the world to Star Trek conventions. I couldn't believe it when I found out that he had been to Europe for a Star Trek...(more)

This may sound weird, but you might try to notice what you do that tears up your nairs. Now, I'm a guy, and I had a guy problem. When I wore jeans, the metal zipper would do a number on the nail on my index finger. It took me months to figure...(more)

I think he's the best. I can't think of anybody who plays the blues on a Les Paul who does it better.

If you don't want to ever strum with your thumb pick, then you could get a regular thumbpick and trim it with a, well, I hate to say it, a toenail clipper. Then I file it with an emery board and sand it with 800-grit sandpaper.

Thanks. This guy is fast and fast is good. Very impressive. I think classical is unique in that you do get relative rankings. I'm somewhere in the intermediate range. I assume Alexander Vnograd is a master. I don't know if he is the best b...(more)

What is kinda fun is to see how many melodies you can play that come out of the pentatonic scale. Amazing Grace, I Will Follow Him, and many other songs are all made up of those five notes.

The main difference between an acoustic amp and a keyboard amp is the acoustic amp will have an input designed for a piezo pickup. Most guitars today have preamps built into the guitar, so you don't need a piezo input anymore. If you don't hav...(more)

    The opening line is: I'm dreaming of a White Christmas: A A# A G# A A# B C Just like the ones I used to know: D E F G F E D C I'm not sure what key but in Am or C those would be the notes.
