I have the same amp and it only makes noise when I am standing to close with the guitar. Let's say, it may not make a lot of noise if you're more than 3-4 feet away... although I usually don't play that loud... Csaba

Thanks! I heard Satriani used something like that on his latest release (a Palmer speaker simulator)... I was wondering whether he used his amp's overdrive or some simulation... Speaker simulation should be the last effect you use I guess, is i...(more)

Thanks! I would still like to try one, because it is easy to record with them at normal volumes and other intruments don't get in the recording. There is one from Palmer (PDI-09, the junction) that is specially made for guitarist and has some o...(more)

Hi, I'm considering buying a DI box to record guitar directly from my amp. I have some question, could you help me out? First, do you recommand it instead of a mic? For me, it seems much easier and maybe you loose some diversity (without mic p...(more)

I would switch the chorus and the distortion... I would put the chorus and the echo (in that order) in the loop... If you don't have a loop, then put the echo after the chorus in your direct chain, but don't use the amp overdrive. Csaba

that's the right order if your guitar comes first... you could also put the chorus/echo in the effect loop of your amp. Or do you mean how to set each effect? :) Csaba

Maybe an 'anti-computer' opinion: I'm using a Boss BR-600 to record a couple of songs. This is a simple 8 track recorder with all the stuff you need for home recording with good quality (like effects (delay, chorus, reverb), editing, EQ, mixing...(more)

Sorry for starting this dicussion again, but it's already 4 years ago... things change!!! ;) My top 3 favourite instrumentals would be (maybe a bit 'soft' for now), maybe in a different order: Joe Sartiani - You saved my life Andy Timmons - Go...(more)

Just sing the scales while playing them first. Then try to play a melody within the scale (still singing). Then try to play a melody over a chord progression within the scale (still singing). Then try more complex progressions... (still singi...(more)

Hi, Can you tell me a bit more about 'the nut problem'? I hope it's ok without changing it (I think I'll have one of the newest models (PRS SE standard)), so maybe it is already solved, but you never know... Thanks, Csaba

Hi, A few days ago I played on a PRS SE standard guitar. I really liked it. Has anyone some experience with this guitar? It has a shorter scale than Fender type guitars (25"). I use normally thin strings on my Ibanez (25.5") and I was thinking ...(more)

Hi, I wanted to ask another question about the whammy pedal (I still did not purchase one...). In the owner's manual they tell us to put the whammy before a distortion pedal: that way I don't really understand how you can use the harmonist fun...(more)

I think it's a great book also! Only one thing: don't forget about music itself when learning from this book!!! Those are only mechanical exercises. The last part is maybe the most important! Greetings, Csaba

My favourite is Joe Satriani!!! I really like his latest album Super Colossal (all the other too :)). He is really expressive with his guitar and the songs are just great. I've just seen him live yesterday. Very nice!!! Great tone, not too loud...(more)
