I'm using Guitar Pro...it's relatively cheap and simple to use, and
it prints to .pdf nicely. It doesn't cover all the notational bases
(their are a few quirks that annoy me that I have to find
workarounds for), but it works good for tabbing ...(more)

I think playing is the most important part, followed by theory,
then technique.
In my experience, technique generally comes naturally as a
result from playing, and sometimes (often times!) not being
disciplined into always using "proper tech...(more)

Cool Adriano.
Again, the chord name given is a functional name, IMO. As
a static chord, I would prefer to call it Db/Cb.
great chord btw.

nobody likes to provide the analysis, eh?
Anyhoo...If you don't mind, I would like to call your first chord Bb6/9 since we are not using it in a functional progression here. I understand how you might call it a C7sus/Bb, but I think that's an u...(more)

Very cool Joe!
If I might elaborate a little for others who find these voicings a
tad complex...there is actually a mini lesson in this:
Here are versions of those voicings WITH the root added as the
lowest voice:
cho|5|x|5|6|6|x|A7alt(#5)...(more)

Thanks Bob...thought I was going to have to call your earlier
Gm7b5 an Eb9! haha...actually, I forgot the rules to the thread for a
second myself...thanks for the reminder.
F functions here as the 9th in an Eb9 chord.
regards,
Rob

Very nice Adriano...one of my favorite voicings.
the F note here functions as the root.
keep pickin,
Rob
PS - I know you like little chord movements...try alternating this
voicing with the one you gave during a dom7 vamp:

Ah...welcome to the wonderful world of harmony!
What you are experiencing is the push/pull of voice
movement...IOWs, the momentum you feel when you hear one
note moving to the next. When dealing with chords and
harmony, this sensation is hig...(more)

try this for a ii/V/I in Bb:
cho|x|3|5|3|4|3|Cm7|cho cho|x|x|3|5|4|5|F7|cho cho|x|x|3|3|3|5|
Bbmaj7|cho |cr|
The Bbmaj7 has the 5th in the bass. Notice on the F7 you could do
a little pull off to the 9th at the 3rd fret of the 1st string.

Mike,
You can actually look at it either way. If you are trying to name
the
chord as a "static" chord (i.e. not as part of a harmonic
progression), then you choose a root and analyze the rest of the
chord tones against that to derive your n...(more)

Very nice sir....good to see you!
Just to clarify for everyone, the F note here is functioning as the
3rd in the chord, but if the chord name is C#7b9 then the F note
would actually be called E#!
Of course, if the chord was called Db7b9, the...(more)

Thanks Todd...
F functioning as a b7 in a G7 had sort of been used in the thread
already, but I think your voicing is more appropriate to this
excercise.
BTW...for your original submission, if you simply add a natural
3rd
to your Dmin7 voi...(more)
