I think the Jeff Beck song was "She's a woman".

I would recommend "Kind of Blue" and "Round Midnight" by Miles Davis, as well as "Blue Train" by John Coltrane.

I believe their last major tour was in 1994 to support the Division Bell album. With the money being offered to bands, I think they will tour again. Without Roger Waters of course.

"Music is something that you hear.If it sounds good then it really doesn't matter too much what they're wearing." Thank you for saying that. It's all about the music for me. I personally don't care if one or more members of VH are jerks (or c...(more)

Bob Mould (from Husker Du) is a great musician. I can't recall any recent albums, but Workbook is very good.

I got an Ebow a few years ago. Due to outside circumstances (translation: job) I don't use it much, but its an excellent tool, and unique. The sustain that you can get from it is amazing. Just playing with the thing for a few hours will give ...(more)

Has anyone seen the G3 tour this year? I went to the DC show on Nov 4th and was amazed. Yngwie opened that night. He's not my favorite, but I know others like him. No complaints there. Steve Vai was next. He just walked on stage, while a r...(more)

I'm a total fence sitter in that I like both the Hagar and Roth eras. The other three guys have been there the whole time and they are great. VH1, 5150, and Carnal Knowledge are three of the best rock albums of the past 25 years. I also have ...(more)

Typically, classical guitars use nylon strings. These strings have a softer, more mellow sound. Steel strings are what you most often hear in rock, country and blues (to name a few). The sound is more bright and crisp. I have found that the ...(more)

I have a Zoom MRS4 (4 track digital recorder) and it works very well for me. You can record music onto smart media cards, and then have your pc read and edit your music. This is my problem: the card manager software that is available to read ...(more)

The vintage guitar shop in Bethesda, Maryland is called Southworth Guitars. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the Washington, DC area. They have many different vintage instruments and amps, and aren't touchy about people playing the...(more)

Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" is a good one. Not the easiest either. Also: Zep's "Four Sticks" and "Misty Mountain Hop" CCR's "Down on the Corner" Ozzy Ozbourne "Crazy Train" don't be afraid to try something more difficult - that's the best way to...(more)

You've got me wondering now... Just to throw something in, ever hear of an experiment done years ago where a woman wore a pair of eyeglasses that flipped her vision upside down (no joke- this was done for real). She got used to it, and "rights...(more)

I went to see Eric Idle a few years ago when he did a tour (without the rest of the Pythons). It was the funniest two hours I've ever spent laughing. The most ironic part of the night was when they screwed up their tribute to Graham Chapman (M...(more)

Rex, I would have to disagree. I tried to teach guitar to a left handed beginner and it just didn't work well until we strung his guitar left handed. He had no knowledge of the guitar, but using the left handed style "felt" better to him. K...(more)

"But yesterday I actually listened, instead of critiquing or examining, and hearing him play reminded me of why I started to play the guitar in the first place." I couldn't agree more. JP was a huge influence on me, and still is. Listening to...(more)
