    What i want to know is why manufacturers still use buttons insted of straplock connectors or similar. As soon as the leather on your strap softens it slips over the button and if you're not holding the neck at the time..... I always wind up scr...(more)

    Bear in mind a cover may affect the tone, i think a lot of les paul players take the covers off if they want a higher gain signal, but im not sure if this is just so that the pickup can be moved closer to the string. Richard.
