If someone can legitimately feel it they can play it, and noone has since him, but i hope somebody will, to play like Stevie you have to put 110% of yourself into it, not just a little you have to put everything into it and not hold back.

nope, it was the other way around, he was in awe of guys like Duane Allman and Jimi Hendrix, and in England in the sixties and you played guitar , you were absolutely scared to death if you were well known, because if Jimi would of kept playing ...(more)

It's not difficult? it sure is difficult, Anybody can learn a pentatonic scale, but that ain't where its at, really listen next time, sure its easy to sort of play some of their stuff, but to actually play it and get it noticibly right, it takes...(more)

I think Jimi's Watchtower should have been 1 , but i don't know about the rest , Comfortably Numb deserves a close to top spot too and they got one, and from what i remember, Eruption got second and Freebird got third, as much as i like Skynyrd ...(more)

Clapton's blues playing is not anything at all special, he just unsoulfully runs the blues scale and does the same boring licks and he just is not very good, his blues is very mediocre, any beginner can easily play it, but SRV , Hendrix , Johhn...(more)

I disagree there, if that is true we all might as well put our guitars down and go be plumbers (no ofrfence to plumbers), i think that there is no reason that anybody can't play as good as Stevie Ray, he just played like himself and with practic...(more)

I just think that from seeing him play he plays with alot of passion, maybe not RV passion but alot of passion, the only thing different is that he doesn't always show the body language because he plays alot of technically more challenging songs...(more)

I think that back then the standard of playing and good playing was very low, i mean clapton lets face it his chops are non existant beyond some copped blues licks and chops aren't everything and his playing isn't anything very passionate as muc...(more)

They should do something that no one would expect, and see what happens, it would be some great playing i think, but this probably won't happen, the closest we'll get is probably Mike Stern's new cd Play with guests Bill Frissell and John Scofie...(more)

how about B.B. King and Pat Metheny along with maybe Warren Haynes, and Jeff Beck, now that would be crazy or Steve Vai, Brent Mason, and Scott Henderson, and maybe a guest appearence by Buddy Guy, now that is plain sick, it would be pretty cool...(more)
