    You're looking at a "pure" or "natural" A minor scale (Aeolian mode of the key of C). The construction is: 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 b7. Here's an alternative fingering: seq|6_5|6_7|6_8|5_5|5_7|5_8|4_5|4_7|3_4|3_5|3_7|2_5|2_6|2_8|1_5|1_7|1_8|seq

There are seldom deformed players. More often, deformed technique. The latter can be remedied with informed, concentrated practice.

Bryan, your post reminded me that I had not finished my last post entirely. LOL First -- the pinky is always the most difficult digit to control, for any player. This is because the little finger does not enjoy the same independence of movemen...(more)

Thanks, Kevin -- appreciate the kind words. And yeah, I could have mentioned the Tacoma soundhole -- especially since I have a Papoose hanging on the wall over here. LOL In fact, I wrote a review of the Papoose shortly after it appeared a few y...(more)

Jim, I saw Tuck Andress live once a few years ago in southern CA. He's certainly another chord/melody player who can make you pick the ol' jaw up off the floor. :) Jeff (,@)===::: *******************

You're right, of course, Dan. I was referring more to younger players making a decision whether to play bass or guitar, really. Certainly, once you get your chops together, those chops are sorely missed if you space out. ;) :) Jeff (,@)===::: ...(more)

I first played bass in a little high school trio, mostly because there was noone else to play it, inasmuch as we had two guitar players already. I was the better player, and so it seemed expeditious that I play bass. I had a decent (if incomplet...(more)
