You could search through the online lessons here at WN - tons of good stuff. A lot of punk is three chord stuff like G - C - D (or D7). Start with those chords and you can get a lot going.

Yhy dont you slide the D pentatonic pattern up two frets (toward the bridge) when the E chord comes up and you'll be playing the E pentatonic pattern.

New strings! Try some different brands like Markely Blue steels or Ernie Ball slinkies. I actual like Gibson Vintage nickle the best. You can also try different guages thought it could affect the neck a little.

Well, I go through guitars quite frequently (ask Uncle Rex!). The problem is I always keep one near by, like in my car, so after a while the hot and cold cycles get to them, warped tops, necks, broken tuners etc. I just got my latest, a Fender...(more)

I'd rather die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Rather than screaming in terror, like his passengers.

I have two QTime Metronomes they both deliver a loud click, which you can turn off. They also have a blinking cursor as a cue. One of the metronomes is about the size of a deck of cards. The other has the dimensions of a credit card. Both work f...(more)

I agree with getting an acoustic. I would suggest a dreadnaught style, steel strings. A classical is a little smaller and has nylon strings. You can spend anywhere from 100 to 10000 dollars on guitar. I would reccomend one from the Canadian Luth...(more)

the "gold" hardware is really like pbrass plating and wears off after a while. It make no difference to the tone but it ups the price. You really have to hear the pickups to decide what you like about the sound.
