I'm pretty partial to ProTools. I've seen what it can do and how versatile it is if you have the full setup. A friend and fellow band member has a great ProTools setup at his house, but I was just wanting to find something to mess around with ...(more)

I like Tony. He's way back in 29th though, so he'll have to find some way of getting up front and it's supposedly hard to pass here at Texas Motor Speedway. I just threw out Jr's name because he does have a good track record here (First Busch ...(more)

I didn't even realize ProTools would operate under Windows until checking out the website. I thought a Mac was mandatory. I guess certain versions will work. Yeah, now they just need to put up a Windows 2000 compatible download!

Rained out! We'll try it again tomorrow, Monday April 8 at 11:00am on the FX channel. This Texas rain has been a real killer. It's still going on right now, but hopefully like the forecast says, tomorrow will be clearing up. I think Little E...(more)

I just downloaded Pro Tools 5.0.1 for free at their website! I was all stoked about the possibility of messing around with it, then...I read the small print...it only runs on Windows 98 and I'm using 2000. Oh well. Are there any other free do...(more)

He He. Well, to give you an idea of what the half off was, if you don't already know...I would still be looking at somewhere in the ballpark of $2,500. But I know it would be well worth it. Hell, for all I know, this may be a steal for the 81...(more)

Hey, the first day of the Dallas Guitar Show rocked! I test drove a Taylor 814ce and of course loved it. Y'all probably know this one also has the Brazilian rosewood back and sides, which is a must have for me. I guess the major difference be...(more)

Well, I'm convinced. Like I said earlier, a Taylor is my dream acoustic, period. To be specific, the 714ce that lucky Mr. Steve Cass owns! I'd settle for that 514ce though. Very sweet guitars...

Anyone familiar with Carvin's AC375 thin-line acoustic? How about Taylor's sweet line of "ce" models? If familiar with both, how does the Carvin AC375 stack up against a Taylor "ce"? My dream acoustic is a Taylor, but that AC375 sure looks li...(more)

OK, so far it sounds simple enough. Thanks everyone. Once I get around to getting this all done, where's a great place to upload for free at?

Oh! That's all there is to it?! I know how to put up a link; I just wasn't sure an mp3 player would pop up automatically on one. Greatly appreciated, Helgi!

I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to upload sound clips to the internet, but once I do this, how do I go about putting them on my website so when you click on the link the mp3 player pops up and plays the clip?

OK. I was wondering if new tubes may sound stiff and need a break-in period. You cleared that up for me. I'm definitely going to keep playing them and see where they go. I too have heard great things about JJ Teslas so I couldn't believe the...(more)

I finally put a matched pair of JJ Tesla 6L6 power tubes in my Mesa Nomad 55, and surprisingly I didn't care too much for the sounds I was getting. I seemed to have lost all my warmth on all channels, especially the clean. Gain channel is too ...(more)

I've always been partial to the Boss TU-12. <img src="http://img.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/15/151356.jpg" alt="151356.jpg" /> More accurate to have a needle to watch rather than LED lights. This is the industry standard for port...(more)

I have MusicMatch Jukebox which I just found out has the capability of turning music into mp3s. Is this good enough?

OK, I've since learned that if I go the mp3 route, which seems to me to be the best, I need to get an "mp3 encoder." Most of these are free for downloading. <b>Is there one that is highly recommended and easy to use?</b> I'm basically wanting...(more)

Mars Music carries something called a Signal Flex Momentary On-Off Switch. Sounds like it will do exactly what you're wanting. Check it out at the following link: <a href="http://www.marsmusic.com/store/product_template.jhtml?primarySkuId=385...(more)

What did you all think of Vai's performance with Nelly Furtado last night on the Grammys? I enjoyed it. It's not often that we get to see our favorite guitarists on such mainstream shows as that. Wouldn't it be great if there was a televised ...(more)
