It can also have to do with voice leading....If you were playing say "Wonderful Tonight" it sounds a bit sweeter to play G and the D/F#.. cho|3|2|0|0|0|3|G|cho |cr|

Speaking of Frank, those chord shapes might make cool licks if you were to sweep pick them opver say....an A7 or Eb7 chord....really fast, over and over, with a look of intense concentration on your face....

Actually, there are 3 illegal real books and 3 real ones...I would recommend the legal books and illegal book 1.....if you hang around university jazz musicians enough, you can probobly get someone to cough one up. The legal ones are more accur...(more)

Actually, on "Axis", Hendrix does rock the pedal to the beat...on that strange track after "EXP and before "Spanish Castle Magic". Although, it is much more interesting to use the wah pedal to "shape" notes as in "Voodoo Chile". think of it us...(more)
