Just to get my 2 cents in....
I have always found the "Alfreds" guitar series to be a little less corny then the Mel Bay stuff-also, it move throught the basics a little more slowly, so you have more time to internalize new concepts and notes b...(more)

<lo>
<li> The Book of Useful Chords
<li> The Scale Book
<li> The Arpeggio Book

If you can, find a teacher....if not, make sure your left hand nails are short so you can use the tips of your fingers on the strings (not the flats)...be very exacting and careful to only touch the string you MEAN to, right behind the fret firm...(more)

Play where-ever it is most comfortable for you to play. I've never seen you play, but I suspect that it is your left wrist that causes you pain (assuming you play right-handed)...if this is the case, try rotating the guitar so that the fretboar...(more)

Sus 2 means to substitute the 2nd of the chord for the 3rd of the chord.....in this case, you would need these notes: C,D,G..... cho|x|3|5|5|3|3|C Sus2|cho |cr|
cho|x|3|x|0|3|3|C Sus2|cho |cr|
hope that helps....

I should say that I have played decent Squiers and pretty good Mexican Strats, but the quality, playability and general construction of of the guitars is very erratic, and I feel because of that I can not recommend either of those guitars to som...(more)

How dare you neglect my client, the C#dim triad? Without this lovely little tidbit, you would have no fancy-schmanzy A7 chord....you leave us no choice.

to the best of my knowledge (amd I could be wrong), Jimi tapped with his frettiong hand only, so it wouldn't be 2 handed tapping....although there is a lick in "Come on Part 3" that sounds like it is 2 handed....
