well, its been a loooong time, so all I have is decidedly unscientific recollections...the 2 biggest differences are that the old silverface was lighter (or I am possibly lazier) and the reissue has significantly more bass available which is lik...(more)

So I got a new (new to me amp today)..a Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue. It looks pretty near mint, except someone replaced the 10 inch speaker with a 12 (which I wanted to do anyway). My first amp was a silverface princeton that my dad brough...(more)

I have been trading messages with someone regarding my most recently posted lesson. Apparently he is annoyed that I posted notation and tab rather then making a Wholenote sequence.

Everybody's opinion may differ, and that is...(more)

So yeah, I have a Roland JC 120. It's older - maybe 80's or 90's I was told, but it is nearly immaculate condition. I love the way it sounds...but (there is always a but)....I want something smaller. Anybody want to trade for the next smalle...(more)

Wow - I had just about given up on Wholenote - I figured Chris was on to brighter and better things. Hopefully this will lead to a new period of growth and relevancy. JC

Yeah, I always liked the JC-120 a lot. Although if I didn't have to be the one to carry it around, I'd love to play a 175 through a Fender Twin all the time. The smaller Roland JC's just aren't the same somehow...I've tried a lot of differ...(more)

I definitely recommend checking out Howard Roberts if you haven't before. He did a lot of studio work (apparently a lot of the guitar on the Monkee's albums is him, among other things). He also did some jazz albums. They are interesting in that...(more)

Nice looking guitar. Nice slide playing too- I've been working on it a little, but I am by no means a slide player. After playing many kinds of guitars, I am becoming more and more convinced that the single best all around type of guitar is the...(more)
