He is amazin, but sometimes boring, too many 16th notes IMO. Check out "Cream" album.

Steve Vai - For The Love of God = Perfect bends, almost all types of bends... amazin. SRV - I love when he bends two strings together!!

Not really. His stuff is a mix of Baroque elements, but don't you forget of Hendrix and Blackmore influences. I mean, he stole the classical elements, for sure, but, concerning specially the Rising Force album, he made a good mixture, and that's...(more)

Concerto is not the latest... and altough I like Yngwie a lot, for me it sounds like a simple copy of Mozart, Bach and Paganini elements. cheers

Absolutely correct. Rising Force is a "must-have" album. I recommend to check out first "Far Beyond The Sun".

Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie made me want to play guitar, but nowadays I can't find'em in my playing. :- When I listen to me playing, I always remember John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and Vai. (Of course, I'm not so good as them!)

The most influential and revolutionary jazz guitarist for me is Charlie Cristian. He opened the doors to players such as Wes and George. Between them, I'd rather to listen to Wes. George sounds too pop for me sometimes, and Wes were awesome, am...(more)

The only thing I can say is: "Time is the hardest test". Do you remember Beatles? YES - Will you remember Korn in 50 years forward? I don't think so. That's the way I feel.

Thinking only in rock bands, I can say Yes or Dream Theater. Expanding this paradigm to "fusion", I can say lots of them: Mahavishnu Orchestra, Anyone of Zappa's bands, Return To Forever,....
