I'm looking for a form of G7+ that is not difficult to finger, which can easily transition from playing a G7 chord. One chord book doesn't have a G7 augmented chord. I found various fingerings on p. 91 of 12,000+ Chords for the Guitar (by Don ...(more)

I found a guitar etc. store that I liked until they made their return policy that items could only be returned for merchandise credit. Not that they don't have other nice items, but I like to shop around for the right items at the right price. ...(more)

For those familiar with 70's songs, that last chord sounds like it could fit with "Dance with me" by the Orleans. It also has kind of a Paul McCartney and the Wings sound to it, circa mid-70s. Any other thoughts? -Rik.

Andrew, I tried those progressions. Thanks! I also looked up the chord mentioned at the top of the post, and Chordbook.com confirmed the chord as a D5. I had forgotten about that online resource. http://www.chordbook.com/guitarchords.php W...(more)

What would you call a "chord" shaped like a D major, but with an A instead of an F# on the first string? (I put "chord" in quotes as I believe you need at least three notes in order for it to technically qualify as a chord). cho|x|x|0|2|3|5|c...(more)

I see it's been a while since this was posted, Jeremy. I have to agree with Jon Riley, who wrote: "Any pain is a bad sign. (Other than in the fingertips, where they will inevitably hurt a little as a beginner until the skin toughens up.) Ther...(more)

When ( / if) you teach, in what order do you introduce guitar chords? I'm interested in YOUR feedback. Do you use a ciriculum such as Mel Bay or Hal Leonard, or if not, what approach do you implement? Is it best to teach chords in the keys of...(more)

I'd like to see standard musical notation added. Also, chord charts which are vertical instead of horizontal would be my preference. But I agree--more active members would be nice! -Rik E.
