Hello fellow musicians, My name is Brett Smith and I love music. Ever kind imaginable. I started playing guitar when I was 13 years old. I only knew how to play Metallica and Green Day. It was all about modern rock then. Untill, I discovered Eddie Van Halen. I was blown away. I wanted to be a lead player. I worked my butt off (I'm talking practicing for 6-10 hour intervals) to get where I am today. It was all about rock then.
Jazzing it up a bit
After I finished learning every Malmsteen song, I was bored. I started listening to Wes Montgomery. He was just as awesome as hearing Eddie for the first time. I got into jazz. Then I started listening to the blues, thanks to SRV. So, my point is, it doesn't matter the type of music it is, it can teach you. Every style has something to offer. Now, I'm working on playing some Vic Wooten on guitar. I'd especially like to thank Harley Hamm for sparking my love of diverse music. Thanks brother.
