I have been crazy about guitar since my pre-teen years and that's a LONG time ago. I got my first guitar for Christmas when I was 11 years old. It was an inexpensive Kingston acoustic guitar given to me by both of my godparents. God bless them for encouraging me in that way. The strings were so far from the frets that by the time I could play a barre F-Chord I could also crush a coconut in my bare hands. My formative years (musically-speaking) were spent with a great bunch of musicians at the St. Paul Catholic Youth Center. I played guitar in the music group there. I suppose today you would call it a praise band. It was a great place to learn about love, life and music. Unfortunately, today it's a parking lot.
Today my interests are drifting more toward guitar building. I have assembled a Franken-Strat and a Tele-Style guitar so far. I'm currently working on another Strat and I'm going to try my hand at winding my own pickups. I just love all the reference materials that can be found on the Internet today and WholeNote is one I have come to enjoy quite a lot.
