i am not a slave to the machine
My name is Robert and I have been playing guitar for about 5 years now. I am music major and I am probably going to transfer to the U of O next year and maybe get a minor in philosophy. Eugene's music scene is interesting, has lots of local talent, and interesting personalities. I would like to start a band, but sadly, I have noticed people who tend to be into the "heavier music" are concerned with being silly and singing about Satan and the posturing of being bad a-- (ha ha makes me laugh). Yes, it is rebellious to say Christianity is a joke, but turning around and using the same archetype, except being evil, is a little silly, is it not? The people I have encountered also tend to be very closed minded and homophobic; calling everything "gay," or people they don't like "f_gots." Or in other words, simple-minded ignoramuses. I like to write about the ignorant, not make friends with them.
Right now I am studying classical guitar. It is different, and the technique is a real b---- to get down, but it is all worth it. I will probably get a masters or bachelors in performance, in either jazz or classical guitar, maybe both; that though is a long time away.
