Way too old to rock and roll.......
You know you're too old to Rock and Roll when you go shopping for an amp and the number 1 priority is that its not heavy enough to throw your back out!
Like alot of you guys out there, I am a 40 something guy rediscovering his old love of the guitar. For the last 20 years I have been picking up the accoustic when the spirit moves me while my old electric has been gathering mildew in my Dad's basement. Due to some prompting from a relative of a relative whom I met at a various family things, I recently had the workhorse overhauled and am ready to risk divorce by sinking $500 or so in an amp. My wife doesn't know this yet, so please don't tell her. My life is at stake. UPDATE ON THE AMP: Scrapped the new amp idea in favor of a Toneworks AX100G - figured I'd spend more time at the computer than in front of an audience. I have done some recording at home, but I need to work on it!
Gear, or lack thereof.....
An old Carlo Robelli Les Paul (Sam Ash Special) with a vintage 70's Dimarzio super distortion in the lead position. A tiny Guild practice amp that hums alot. And my pride and joy, a 79'ish Guild G-37 accoustic - I love that guitar. Recently, I have been using a Korg AX100G into my computer using an old version of Cakewalk Guitar Track to record. I also have a Tascam 4 track that is sadly underutilized.
