Old Punk Bass Player from Iceland

I play bass for an Icelandic punk band, Fraebbblarnir (The Stamens). The band has been playing since 1978 but I joined them in 2001.

I also play guitar a bit at home, mostly for songwriting purposes and I love musical theory, perhaps because I have a bit of a tin ear.

The BBC interviewed our singer, Valli, for a feature they did on the Icelandic music scene. Check it out on the BBC homepage.

We recently recorded a song co-written by me and Valli, our singer, for a Joey Ramone tribute album named Life's a Gas. The song is called "Heaven Needed a Lead Singer" and the CD was released by AMP Records.

The song is available in mp3 on Activebass.

  • rather than mainly to stroke his own ego as an influence.
