Hi everybody!
I was just browsing around when I picked up "Wholetone". A nice place getting in contact with different approaches in playing and exercising. Formerly educated as a jazz-guitarist I found the real kick in performing a country-style mixed up with different music influences. Working as a professional player for 10 years I must admit I never would change any second...although it's hard sometimes. Musicians like to think in stylistic categories very often; they apologize their own habit and style. That's no way for me. At the moment I'm touring throughout Europe with "Yannick Monot & Nouvelle France", a french-german cajun/zydeco/countryswing project. We're also working on a new CD. Beside that I'm pushing my own projects "Black Coffee", a modern jazz/blues quartett and a southern-rock influenced line-up we called "Common Dog". All this bands allow me to play several styles and to develop 'em...the best thing that could happen to every guitslinger!
On stage (left) with "Nouvelle France" & a nice Telly b-bender in the heat of the European Countryfestival Bad Ischl/Austria 2000; 2:00 am!
