More Snappy Stuff................
Hey..welcome to my place...I'm Tony, (really, I am..in person!) Musician and poet first....Professor of Electronic Engineering at a southeastern Michigan college second. Hey..gotta keep food on the table and a roof overhead or the music thing would go no where. More about me (sounds self centered, but after all, this is my freakin' web page right?)......... I was born a lonely white boy, with no rythmic sense, and no musical prowess, and in the roughly 47 years since have managed to build my skills to the point where I can honestly say that I havn't that sense that I was born with, although I do manage to belt out a few pseudo rythmic tunes every once 'n awhile. Started out playin' an accordian back in the 60's, but somehow had trouble hooking up with the Hendrix types..oh well, theres no accounting for ones sense of what might be truly innovative. I mean, have you ever heard an accordian miked through a wah-wah??...,me neither, and I'm pretty sure that I dont want to either...thats why I started playing keyboards instead, not that I would play them through a wah-wah..but it just seemed to be a lot cooler, somehow. So keyboards were my main thing for about 30 years or so. Only problem was it was a real bear haulin' that dang piano out to the campfire for the family sing-a-longs (my back bein' about 40 years old at that time) that I decided to take a crack at playin' guitar. Was an easy transistion, really, once I figured out where the black keys were. So there you have it...keyboards about 35 or so years now..(more if you include the accordian gig..*sigh*) and guitar for about 6 or 7 serious years. My primary styles are classic blues and country, for guitar, although my keyboard style is much more eclectic, with a strong Keith Emerson influence.
You Lookin at ME???........LOL
I Wish.............
...I were an oscar meyer wiener...well not really, but its funny how some tunes just stick with ya over the years. What I'd really like to do is to get together with some semi-serious types like myself for a crack at original song writing, with an aim at actually gettin 'em played. (yea...really...people can actually do this) Playing them out myself or just writing for others..makes no difference to me, I just like to write ( and my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Casier said I was pretty good at it, you cant get better references than a lay teacher at a catholic grade school, can you?) By the way, I was raised Catholic...but I'm OK now. Sort of miss the old grade school though...those patent leather shoes really did reflect up. I digress... So, if there a Rogers' out there lookin' for a Hamerstien, a Paul lookin' for a John, or a Hooker lookin' for a John, ( hey, pays to keep your options open), drop me a line. Incidentally, would probally help if you were somewhere close to S.E. Michigan. I currently live in the Northeastern suburbs of Detroit, as opposed to the places I've formerly lived in, which of course would be of little use to you, if at all.
