Southern Rock Just makes you want to groove and be happy!
What a long strange trip it still is!
This is who I am. I was born in the Shenandoah Valley and raised up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. My first band was in high school. It was acoustic guitars and harmony singin. I learned the basics, on guitar, bass and harmonica. We covered tunes by Dylan, the Kingston Trio, the Beatles and the Stones. Since then, I paid my dues, in weekend bands, show bands, road bands, 50s bands, country bands, rock bands, blues bands, top 40 bands, classic rock bands, country rock bands, variety bands, 3-piece bands, 4-piece bands, 5-piece bands, 6-piece bands, 7-piece bands, 8-piece bands, and even a disco band, yes, a disco band.
Ive played clubs and shows from coast to coast and had the opportunity to see many new wonderful places and meet lots of fine folks all over this country. Ive also had the privilege, from time to time, to share the stage with some stars on the way up and some on the way down. Quite a wide variety of artists have caught my attention over the years, like Muddy, B. B., Mayall, Django, Jr. Wells, Bob Wills, Clapton, Delanie and Bonnie, the Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Waylon, Willie, Skynyrd, and The Outlaws. I can proudly say Ive stolen something from everyone of em. Music has always been my driving force. Every time I hit the stage its a new adventure. A touch of this and a bit of that, stirred and restirred, continually changing. This is who I am.
