A little about me...

Hi All. I've been playing guitar for quite a while now. I've studdied many styles, but I find jazz to be some of the most rewarding music I have played - so that's what I do a lot of the time. I'm always looking for new ways to mix up the different music that I enjoy - recently bluegrass has been finding it's way into things.

Musical thoughts...

Over the last couple years I've been changing my whole approach to the guitar. It started when I got a 7-string and started messing aroung with self accompaniment. That lead to my first Novax 8-string which allows me to cover both guitar and bass duties. So that's been keeping me pretty busy.

I've been working on setting up a page to show some of the music I've been doing around NW Montana, and you can check it out at http://www.ericgates.com.
