Musical Influences: Michael Manring, Abe Laboriel, Bill Frisell, SadHappy, Tony Levin, John Coltrane, Joni Mitchell, King's X, Dave Matthews Band, Jaco, etc.
Performing Experience: solo bassist for 3 years. 5 years touring Europe - gospel, jazz, acoustic, & recording sessions. 1999 Euro tour with Howard Jones, reg. jazz gigs in london & avante garde gigs in France
Education & Training: Studied at Perth College In Scotland. Have been teaching for 10 years, including 2 as head of bass as West Lothian Rock School, 3 at Drumtech and Basstech in London, and two years teaching students from York University.
Personal Statement: I try to come up with a blend of what you 'need' to know to get you where you want to go, and practical song related material. All topics covered are rooted in the music that you're listening to and wanting to perform. And most of all, you'll hopefully have a good time! Have a look at my web-site for more information.
