Personal Statement

I focus my lessons on the student becoming familiar with the guitar as an instrument and a tool used in creating music. Viruosity isn't all about shredding and playing 20 notes a second, to me it is all about control and being able to deliver an idea across to the listener. Music theory is introduced as a way to better understand the building blocks of music. Though I do use other guitarists' songs and solos as teaching aids, I much prefer to teach using excercises and theory to help the student create their own music. Patience is a virtue, and if someone is patient enough and willing to learn how to play the guitar properly, then I am willing to teach to teach to the best of my ability.
