Rating: I chose this for the price, mainly. If it were stolen, I would probably buy it again, simply because I can't afford a better one. I looked at the Boss pedals, as well as DOD. Both did not seem to be what I wanted. So, I went with the cheapest. I will probably get the Ibanez Tube Screamer one of these days, just to give me some more versatility. |

Model Year: 2003
Price: $20 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
|
|
Features:
Level, Low, High, Distortion controls. Battery powered or can be used with AC adapter. Basic dist. stompbox. One input, two outs. |
|
Sound Quality:
I run an Epiphone Les Paul Special II through the MM-1 into a Behringer Ultratwin GX210. This pedal is suited to metal. Not realoly anything else. With the mids rolled bck, you can get a really thick, meaty rhythm distortion, or crank the mids and it gives a great soloing punch. Can get a little noisy, but hey, it's a cheap metal distortion pedal. Other than that, good sound, at least to my ears. |
|
Ease of Use:
It only takes a minute to dial in what you want and plug-and-play. Owner's manual in some badly translated English, but you really don't need it. |
|
Durability:
It's plastic, but it seams fairly sturdy. The knobs could easily be broken off, and I don't think it could take a ton of stomping, so it might not be the thing for gigs. However, not terrible. |
