Rating: I chose this amp due to availability it was there i bought it. marshall does not make this amp anymore, it
should be stolen i would by another marshall.
it could be better if it contained a better reverb tank
as well as a smoother clean channel.
my favorite aspect of this amp is the distortion is very
smooth and sounds great, the worst aspect is i am not
fond of the clean channe it requires to much adjusting to get a sound i like. |
|
Price: $300.00 (used)
Where Obtained: pawn shop
|
|
Features:
The 80/80 has 4 knobs on the clean channel including a
crunch knob.
the lead channel has 6 knobs gain, b,m,t and a contour knob as well as two buttoms for extra distortion.
i am a begginner and has more than enough power for my needs. it has a 12ax7 preamp tube and the rest is solid state. |
|
Sound Quality:
I use a fender fat strat, the only effects i use are a chorus pedaland a danelectro overdrive pedal.
i love to play surf music and blues i do need to get a better reverb pedal. i have also used some smaller fender amps and it has a much harder sound it has all the
distortion i need sounds ok at high volume a little noise
on the clean channel. |
|
Ease of Use:
No it is not programable and on the clean channel it does
need some fiddling to get the right sound.
i like the amp very much, and have not played enough to
be able to compare it with alot of other amps |
|
Durability:
It is very reliable i have had it 2 years and i have not
had to replace the tube or do anywork on it.
it is very well built and can handle alot of day to day play and abuse. |
