I looked at Fender and Gibson but I couldn't pass on the quality and price I would buy this guitar again in a heart beat if I could find one The wammy bar lock is only a set screw and comes loose and some times falls out I love the sound so sweet and warm, it is quite heavy so I practice alot sitting down gets the shoulder after awhile
Model Year: 1982
Price: $300.00
Where Obtained: Jay, a Friend
Features:
Made in USA Maple neck with rosewood fret board? 22 Frets , 6 String volume, treble, bass, 2 switches, you can go between bridge and neck and also change phase of coils Passive twin humbuckers (very hot) must have alot of windings per coil nat center to darker edging Strat style body string thru with spring tremola Grover 12 to 1
Playability:
It has a very low action and could probably use a fret job but after calling the factory they suggested that I leave it alone, due to age and this was Leo Fenders second year in the G&L biz, plays great
Sound Quality:
Solid state B-52 LG 100A, and a Line6 POD live, I have tried tube amps and ended up blowing out tubes left and right and also spliting the tube sockets. I was told this was due to the pick ups being wound so hot. I plan on leaving it stock because of it's age, great condition and playability
Durability:
I have been playing it for 21 years, Never tuched the truss rod, and set the intonation once when I first got it. The only thing I find is the tempature changes will sharpe or flat it, but not put it out of tune
