If you want an electric 12 string in your arsenal and you don't want to spend a lot of money, this may be what your looking for. The initial price and overall quality make this guitar worthwhile even if you find you need to do some upgrades.
Model Year: 2002
Price: $225.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Maggio Music
Made in China. Maple neck, 24 fret rosewood fingerboard with mop dot inlayed markers. Controls consist of; 3 way pickup selector (standard toggle), 2 volumes and 1 tone (knobs), coil tap (micro switch). Sealed tuners. Basswood body (double cutaway). Dual Humbuckers (DiMarzio). Adjustable bridge with stop tailpiece.
Plays very well. Good action adjustment, fairly easy to get setup to personal taste, bridge saddle adjustment could be better (adjustment screws are on the inside and a bit difficult to get to, one saddle per string pair so intonement must be set in pairs).
If your expecting that famous "Ric" 12 string jangle, you will be dissappointed. If your familiar with other brands of 12 strings you will be more satisfied. I think the pickups are a little too "hot", unless you want to shred with a 12 string you will probably want to change the pickups. I've put a set of P90s in mine and am considering having a new nut cut so that I can string it "Ric" style.
I've had this one for about 2 1/2 years and have not had any problems with it, but since it is a 12 string it has had limited usage.
