Ibanez is a good product(has been for me anyway).I got it because I wanted to get some hollow-body blues tone.The factory set-up was good ,but you may need to lower the bridge a little & fine tune for intonation.This is a nice one stock,but with some good custom PU's I'd put it up against a $1500 gtr. I'd say it's a very good guitar that could be made great.

Great sound. It sounds good to me on any clean tones, Easy to find a pretty nice dirty blues tone too.It can pull off most rock too. The stock PUPs are not bad but of-course you can do better. Stock PUPs are ceramic so I do feel like I need some Alnico II in it. Maybe some P90's!
I've had it about 4 years & it only gets better.I have not upgraded anything,just fine-tuned the setup.I keep this one in a case w/ one of those cheap humitifiers & have not had any climate problems.
I wasn't looking for a guitar when I found this. I was waiting on the
salesman about a different guitar and took this down and started playing
it. I was really gentle with it because I figured it was a $700-$1000
guitar. I would definitely buy another one of these if something were to
happen to this one. I would probably be waiting though, as it's often on
back order. This guitar looks like it wants to play, and when you play it, it
sounds like its enjoying itself. More than any other guitar I own, this one
keeps calling me to pick it up and start playing.

Made in China. Don't know what kind of wood for the body, rosewood
looking neck. Six string, 22 medium frets, neck and bridge humbuckers
with volume and tone pots for each pickup. Three way selector down by
the pots. Pickups are Ibanez 'no names' but they are fairly hot, with a
good balance. Available in translucent brown or blue, I have the brown
one which looks very nice and understated. It is a double cutaway, thin
semi-hollowbody that allows pretty good access all the way to fret 22.
It's thin enough so you don't feel like you're clinging to it. Tuners are
'no-names' but they are very smooth action and precise. Mine holds
tuning very well, and I use several different tunings, so I'm always
messing with the tuners.
Guitar plays very well. Out of the box it felt nice and comfortable, and as
I'm playing it gets better. Neck is small enough that I can reach
uncomfortable chord shapes (and with it's jazz type set up, this is
probable) better than most but wide enough to accomodate less than
perfect finger positioning. The action is fairly low, which for my playing
style is good. I've not played many guitars of this style, but it plays better
than my Strat. It definitely has an electric feel to the setup, so it's softer
than an Ovation or most dreadnought acoustics.
I play a bunch of styles, blues, rock, folk and after a hard week, maybe
even a little punk. This does extremely well for the blues and folk, and
makes me want to get out the jazz guitar for dummy's books. It's good
for rock but the sound really shines just at the edge of distortion,
Chicago bluesy sort of stuff. Rhythm is really nice and balanced sound,
and with the bridge pickup kicked it can cut through for nice solos.
Overall, guitar seems like it would do well on stage, maybe I'm paranoid
but I'd keep it in the hardshell case though. I mostly record and it not
only is a welcome addition to my guitar sound, but looks good, too.
I was worried about a guitar with this much open wood area but so far it's
not seemed to be affected at all by weather. It holds tuning better than
any of my other guitars. Other than that, I haven't messed with any of the
guts. The neck was set up just right so I didn't need to mess with the
truss rod, and the intonation is close enough that I'm not going to bother
with it until I start experimenting with heavier strings. (Something several
people have said really helps the sound.)
