I have used this pedal since Oct 2004 and I love it. It truly helps my tone, anmd on the real small jobs I can get good tone without an amp, nice on gigs with 2 flights of stairs or backed in a corner with no stage. I will in the future buy a second one to have two settings. I love the tone so much that it would be worth it.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $129.00 (new)
Where Obtained: E-bay
Features:
9V or AC adapter powered. 4 pots on the top for Level, high, low and gain. Mono pedal, no tubes. Silent and sturdy switch.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality is fantastic on the GT2. I use the pedal straight thru to the PA at small clubs we play and it sounds well. I use it in front of my Traynor TS-100 set clean and the GT2 gets killer tube amp like tones. The Tweed setting is very Fenderish and I love it. The British setting is Marshallesque and rocks. The California gives a smooth high gain sound. The pedal is noisy on the California setting in high gain settings, which would be normal for most amps anyway.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use. No programming here. I like a set it and forget thing anyway, one tone is all I ask of the GT2.
Durability:
The switch feels sturdy. The case is metal. It will last a while for sure. Tech 21 doea good work.
