This is one of the coolest guitars I own. I have had it for about 1 week and have put about 30 hours playing on it. Just love it!!
Model Year: 2004
Price: $1200.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Wildwood Guitars
Features:
See rickenbacker.com for all these details.
Playability:
This guitar feels a lot like a six string electric. The action is low and light. The paired strings are very close together, so it is easy to bend, vibrato etc.
Sound Quality:
I use a Behringer V-amp2 and a Vox AC30. I play all styles of music, But have found that I tend to use the ricky in songs I would normally use an accoustic for. However it also has some of the wickedest metal tones I have ever heard when using these settings on the v-amp. It is going to take a little while to get to know this instrument. But I can say I love it!!!! Seems to be a perfect partner for an AC30.
Durability:
I haven't had it long enough yet to make this assessment. Will be using it for a Christmas gig along side my strat in 2 days and I expect it to last the distance. Tuning seems reliable intonation was spot on.
