I ended up getting a pair of AT 4047's for the chore I purchased this mic for (vocals), but it's earned it's keep doing drum overheads and pianno work.

They have been superceded by a newer model with different "more modern" voicing.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $750.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music Store
0/10/25 pad switch 0/25/40 hz roll off switch Omni/Figure of Eight/Cardiod/Hyper Cardiod pattern select switch Flat response with excellent detail. Excellent build quality. Great shock mount and wind sock included
Sound Quality:
A little too clinical for my taste, but the standard reference microphone for LCD comparisons. Th TL II series is tuned with a mid/high bump in the response to bring vocals up front without EQ.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use- one of the best shock mounts/wind socks I've used.
Condensor mics are by their very nature fragile, but this has a quality built body and screenning. Th shock mout attaches firmly and with ease. Almose a piece of jewelry or a fine watch. Hand bilt Austrian engineering at it's best.
