Fender FM 212R

100W Combo (2 x 2")

Made by Fender

Description It's a hot amp worth well more then the price they charge for it. It's loud enough to play over drums and would be pretty good for any small to medium sized gig. It also sounds just great.

I love this amp. I was thinking about getting a marshall AVT-100 or 150, but i figured this ones just as many watts and sounded pretty nice, and i could use the money i saved and get a new guitar too. It'd be nice if the 3rd channel was really a third channel and not just a button that adds more drive, but i can deal with that. That's my only problem with it. It looks just awsome with the black grill cloth. Personally, i would have payed 500 bucks for this amp. i think it's a steal for just 300 bucks.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $300.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Sam Ash
The features are all right. not the greatest but not that bad. Technicly it has 3 channels, but one of the channels is really just the 2nd drive channel and it just adds even more drive. There aren't any built in effects except for reverb, but i'd rather get a bunch of peddles then have built in digital effects anyway. It comes with a two button footswitch. It's 100 watts so it's pretty loud obviously. It's not a tube amp, but you're not gonna find a good 100 watt tube amp, or a bad one for that matter for just 300 bucks.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality's just awsome. I play my tom delonge strat through it, and it sounds amazing. I pretty much just play punk rock, and this amp's great for it. It has a mid contour button that makes it sound really metal too, personally i don't play metal, but if you do it's a nice amp for it. You can also get some nice blues tones out of it too. The clean channel sounds amazing, and stays clean at high volumes. I'm so used to my marshall mg-30dfx that cracks all the time on clean, even at low volumes. This amp is so much better than that amp, yet it's only about 50 bucks more. True it's not a marshall, but it's a fender which is still a high quality brand name.
Ease of Use:
It's not that hard to get the kind of tone you want with this amp. Yea obviously you might have to fiddle with it to get your sound, but how many amps do you know of that you don't have to mess around with to get your sound? It's by far easier than my old mg-30dfx, i'll tell you that.
I know, it used to have a 5 here, but I had to change it, because a few months ago one of the input jacks brock off. just the front piece, it still worked fine for a while but now just the other day it started getting really messed up. When i put 5 here, it was before i realised that the input jacks were just made of cheap plastic.
