Washburn WG 580

Electric 6-String Guitar

Made by Washburn

Description This guitar is an Ibanez RG style guitar. However, the neck is not quite so flat and wide as an ibanez neck. It was made in Korea, and comes with an actual Floyd Rose tremolo arm and Buzz Feiten locking nut.

I like this guitar. It was my first electric guitar, and very good for the price. I prefer it to the low end Ibanez's because of the Floyd Rose, which when set up properly is very reliable. I still play this guitar a lot, especially for rock music.
Price: $200.00 200 (sale price) (new)
Where Obtained: Machinehead Guitars UK
Features:
Korean, Floyd Rose and Buzz Feiten locking nut. Rosewood neck, H/H pickup configuration. Good hardwear and well constrctucted for the price, though the Washburn pickups are quite noisy. Ibanez RG style body with one volume and one tone pot, with is a push pull pot to select single coil or humbucker.
Playability:
I use this guitar with a nice low action. The neck is wide and flat, but not as wide as an ibanez neck. and without jumbo frets. It plays quite well.
Sound Quality:
The pickups are noisy. The dirty tones are good, the clean tones are a bit weak. With new pickups it will sound a lot better.
Durability:
Tough.
