I have 11 amps now and always keep my eye open to what's out there. This amp is awesome,I'd buy another for sure. The tone is the best aspect of this amp.For a 1x12 it can't be beat. With a 4x12 it breathes fire.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $685.00
Where Obtained: Starz Guitars
Features:
Volume,Treble,Mid,Bass,Master on both channels then a reverb and presence for both channels.Effects loop on the back of the amp with volume in and out.Channel switching via footswitch that has channel select and channel 1 gain and channel 2 gain called ninja boost.Plenty loud enough for medium and small clubs.Totally tube amp,2-EL 34's and 12ax7's in the preamp.
Sound Quality:
I use this amp with my 1975 Gibson Les Paul w/Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups, and a 2002 Fender USA Stratocaster. My band does classic rock, blues rock, modern rock, country and a little funk. This amp covers all very well.I've been using a Roland BC-30,A Behringer GX 212 and a Traynor TS-100 for the small gigs and they do well but this Rivera kicks 'em to the curb.Only a slight hiss at high gain high volume levels, but that is very good compared to most in high gain mode.
Ease of Use:
Basic amp set up.Not much tweaking here, which is good for me.Hard to get a bad sound. In fact I haven't gotten a bad sound yet.
Durability:
I'm gonna be doing alot of gigs with this amp.It feels very sturdy.Great solder joints and wiring.I truly believe it'll last a while. It will get abused doing one nighters 3-4 times a week.
