This is an insane album from a guy who went insane. It is very different, but it created possibly every band that is different, including talking heads, and David bowie. Before the album was created Syd and the rest of the Floyd would play gigs that were more than hours long, and would just go on forever with this psychedelic noise of improvisation. This album only reflects that in a few songs, mostly in "Take up thy telescope and walk", and "interstellar overdrive". all the others have Syds whimsical, childhood fairy tale side, like "the gnome", "matilda mother", "lucifer sam", etc. This album is incredibly good if your into thsi kind of music, very different and very good. "bike", the albums ending, is truelly a definition of sixties psychedelia, with booming drums and all kinds of noises and sounds....echo....everything. This album is a classic album and should be in the record books, if it isn't already.
