I am a part-time recording musician who needed a cheap, fun little bass for recording, as opposed to using guitars with pitch de-tuners!! Chose it because of price!! I would replace this thing in a minute, it sounds way too good and lends way too much to my recordings!! Make it better?? Volume Pot!!! It needs one which works!! For a guy in my shoes...this is the deal!! I recommend this bass without hesitation, I am still knocked out by its VALUE!!!
Model Year: 2003
Price: $80.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians Friend
Features:
Korean made 4 string bass. Rosewood fretboard, volume and tone (vol. is on/off switch) 1 Precision type pickup, passive, black finish double cutaway body and matching headstock, diecast tuners.
Playability:
Neck adjustments are a snap, saddle heights and action is easliy adjustable. Plays very well after these adjusts are made!! I play bass like an animal, this little rascal holds its tune, records well, has a very useable tone range. Snapping styles and C & W bomp bomps both handled with ease!!
Sound Quality:
Use it thru my stereo system while recording. Have plugged it into a bass amp and got great results also! I play a variety of styles from Funk, Blues, Metal, etc. Bass has a strong punchy low-end, and a crisp hi-end. No noise encountered. I played a Fender Precision for years, and while it cant compare to that bass, it holds its own wonderfully in my spectrum of use!!
Durability:
So far, I have encountered ZERO problems, except for the volume pot which needs replacing for a live setting, it performs at a level I cannot fathom for this price!! Hardware is cheap at best, electronics are below average but somehow this thing performs at a unheard of scale for this price range.

I have a lot of years spent with old Fender Precision Basses. I had some crap Jammers and Squires too. This bass cost 80 dollars!! Buy it again?? Most certainly!! I havent found any trouble spots or any negatives on this thing whatsoever!! For a guitar guy who wants a bass to record with, you absolutely cannot go wrong!! I have thrashed this guy mercilessly, dropped it, I dont have a case for it, it sits on a stand, and its always ready to rumble!! Bottom line..Highly recommended!!

Made in Korea. Decent tone wood, not sure of exact type. 24 fret, 4 string bass guitar. Volume (bad) and Tone (good) Precision type split pickup. Double cutaway design, not balanced great (wants to dive on you!) very light weight. This model has a rosewood fretboard and nicely finished black body. Die cast tuners, hold up well to thrashing!
Playability:
A neck adjustment and saddle height adjustment out of the box is a given. After a few minutes wrenching with the included tools for the job, you have good action, great playability. I havent found any flaws yet, I have been waiting for the floor to drop out on this one, except for the volume knob (on/off) everything is well in order! I am a Pro level bass player, and luthier.
Sound Quality:
I use it for recording in my PC based studio. I have a very aggressive style on bass, I like to make it talk. This little wonder has a great (for recording) sound, full, punchy and bright. I have used it on Funk, Metal and C & W tracks, and happily report it is up to the task on all levels! Very quiet operation. The only mod I am considering is replacing the Volume Pot, for live use!
Durability:
I beat the hell out of this guy, it stays in tune, no neck problems to report. The electronics were definitely cheap, but have presented no probs in several months of heavy use!
