This is a multiple DvD set covering the entire seven hour concert using the 24 channel audio and 4" Quad video analog masters. There were over 554 concerts held at Bill Graham's Winterland auditorium. Fully 10% or 55 of those shows were featuring the Grateful Dead. Who would be the most natural act to close this historic San Fransisco gathering spot?

There were only two cameras available to capture this event and the sometimes dark lighting make this a show that makes you feel like you are right there. That's the bad part.

The good part is that the dead were "on" that night, giving a performance to truly remember. The Blues Brother Warm up the show before midnight along with The New Riders of the Purple Sage. Dan Aykroyd rides a giant joint that swings down the theatre to count down midnight. John Cipollina, the lead guitarist from Quicksilver Messenger Service" joins them on the 3rd set. Lee Oscar and Matthew Kelly join the band in the second set.

Ken Kesey plays the "Thunder Machine" in the space jam, entitled "Rythm Devils"

A "must get" for any Deadhead out there.

Only $29.95 and included a CD with the best of the previous Dead New Years shows from the previous 12 years.
