A friend of mine first told of Dave Beagle and the Transperformance system - I thought the idea was just cool. Then I heard Fourth Estate and it floored me. Imagine retuning in the middle of a song sliding riffs, licks, and lines up or down a half step (and more) in real time - Simply Awesome. The musicianship and writing on this album is great, without them the device (Transperformance system) is useless. All 12 cuts on this Fourth Estate album kept me wanting more after it was over. The CD opens with "Joy" (Ode to Joy) modernized and it cooks! "Juggernaut" is your standard in your face mix of fusion, rock and metal all rolled into one. While "Highlander" makes use of scottish motifs taking you into modern Ireland. If you are a fan of Steve Morse, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai you will like this album. Who said Christian's can't rock?
