I chose this pedal because it wasn't to pricey and voodoo lab makes very good pedals. Although it does give the really fuzzy sound it is overall a pretty good pedal. If this pedal got stolen i probably would buy another fuzz pedal but i would put more consideration into it. One of my favorite things is that it runs off the amps power and doesn't need a battery but it can be plugged in.
Price: $125.00 (new)
The only problem with this pedal is that it sounds more like an overdrive pedal than a fuzz pedal. It doesnt get that really fuzzy sound. Another good thing about this pedal is that it doesn't need to be plugged in or have a battery it just runs off the amps power. It does not have tubes and i wish it would give the really fuzzy sound i want. The Resonace control adds a sub-harmonic boost to boost up the lows with out changing the tone of the higher notes
I use this effect with a Crate GLX65 amp and a standard Strat. This pedal can be used for many styles of music because it can sound like a fuzz box or a distortion box if u set the knobs right. This pedal is perticulary quiet, espiecally compared to my Boss MT-2 pedal and both of my overdrive channels on my amp.
This unit is not programable. But it is very easy to use, it comes with a paper telling you how to get certain sounds and what all the knobs do. But it takes a while of using it to get a sound that you will like.
I think it is reliable enough for steady live playing, it is made out of very strong metal and it is a pretty heavy stompbox. Also the manufacturer is known for making durable effects units.
