This is an instructional book primarily; but I consider it to be a valuable reference and resource book as well. With the hundreds of recorded examples listed in styles ranging from Hawaiian Slack Key to Blues, Contemporary acoustic fingerstylists like Michael Hedges and John Fahey to pop like Crosby Stills and Nash and Joni Mitchell, this book never stops giving.

The tunings are logically laid out in an order that makes it easy. The "waterfall scale" Mark Hanson has in every tuning is a great way to open up your playing also.

Can't say enough good things about this book.
