On the top row,Treble and Bass. The second row Gain and Level are the controls and a bypass switch which is a true bypass normally found on units that cost way more than this one.It is 9volt battery and AC adapter powered. It is not stereo.Basically a simple set up.This is not a distortion unit.Although with the gain cranked it does provide a fair amount of distortion. But this pedal was built to enhance your sound. And that it does very well.
My guitars are a 1975 Gibson Les Paul and a 2002 Fender Stratocaster w/EMG DG-20 pickup assembly.I play all styles of music from country to blues to rock to modern rock. This pedal works well in every situation. Many have compared the PD-01 to a Klon Centaur, which is one of the best overdrives ever.I would say that is correct, and at one fourth the price how can you go wrong?Amazingly quiet unit for an overdrive, the true by-pass helps alot.
Very easy to navigate on the PD-01.The gain control is the key here.At zero(all the way left),it is pristine as a boost with the Level control up.This will boost your solos and really make them stand out. With the gain half way,it adds crunch to the boost, which I love.
Metal housing makes it road ready. The bypass switch is very heavy duty.
