I looked at a Peavey Delta Blues 1x15, a '71 Fender Princeton Reverb, a Tech-21 T-60, and a VHT Pitbull 2x10. The Mesa Boogie was the best combination of value, tone, and power, though if money was not an issue...I would have taken the VHT Pitbull because the tone was majestic (crazy $$)and just the best I have heard.

This tube (2 EL-84's)powered amp has an effects loop, reverb, standby, and speaker out options. It's very powerful and sounds more like a 50-watt amp.
I use a Les Paul Custom with the Mesa Boogie for finding my way through Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes, and strangely enough, JS Bach's Inventions.
This amp easily weighs 50 lbs and is very well constructed.
