I chose this guitar because it fit my price range and it sounded the best out of the few i looked at. I would buy this guitar again if it were stolen, but i hope i dont have to make that decision. To me, this guitar couldnt be any better than it is. My favourite aspect of the Godin is the way it looks, especially with the quilted leaf top finish, and the worst aspect is how bad my playing sounds because im not good =\.
Model Year: 2002
Where Obtained: Woodshed Guitar and Drums
Features:
Handcrafted in Canada, assembled in USA. Maple Neck, 22 frets. 5 setting pickups, volume and tone control knobs. 2 double pickups and 1 single, neck- two ghn1 Godin's, middle- one gs1 Godin, and two ghb1 Godin's. Not to sure about passive or active electronics. Lightburst quilted leaf top finish. Not too sure what to call the body style, and the same goes with the bridge style. I think locking tuners made by Godin.
Playability:
This is a beautiful guitar to play, and it also sounds excellent. I am a beginner guitarist, so I do not know much about its full capabilities, but the guitar works for me. I owned a Jay Turser JT-30 electric before this one, and there is no comparision to which is the better guitar.
Sound Quality:
I use a Marshall MG50 amp with ffd technology and it sounds fantastic. I play punk, and rock/pop guitar and the amp and guitar work excellent together. The Marshall amp provies good bass and contains a good variety of sound options. Compared to a Jay Turser with a Fender Frontman 15 watt series one amp, the Marshall blows it away. I am considering to purchase an effect pedal but not too sure which one yet. I would recommend this amp for home and studio use.
Durability:
This guitar is very durable. Nothing needs to be adjusted for my standards. Everything is holding up excellently. The only thing i notice about this guitar when the climate changes is that some things are harder to play, like when it is humid and hot outside, the neck gets sticky, but thats all I can see.
